Article overview
The CS2 inventory includes much more than just AK-47 skins. Some items are visible directly in matches, some change the music or your character, and others are primarily collectibles displayed on your profile. Here are the main types of CS2 items, without an endless list of individual cases or skins.
Weapon, knife, and glove skins
Skins are the best-known type of item in CS2. They change a weapon's appearance, but not its damage, accuracy, or other gameplay mechanics. Skins are available for every weapon, including the Zeus x27.
Knives are rare special items whose appearance is determined by both the knife model and its finish. Gloves are a separate category of rare cosmetic items, and they remain visible on the player's hands for virtually the entire match.
Two skins with the same name are not always identical. Wear grade, exact float, pattern, StatTrak™ counter, and Souvenir quality can set individual items apart. Stickers, a charm, and a Name Tag applied to the weapon make the item even more unique.
Stickers and sticker crafts
Stickers are small images that can be applied to weapons. They feature designs from community artists, Major tournament teams and players, as well as player autographs.
An unapplied sticker is an item of its own. Once a sticker is applied to a weapon, it becomes part of that skin. This combination is commonly known as a sticker craft. A sticker applied directly to a weapon can be scraped or removed, but it cannot be recovered as an unapplied sticker.
The Sticker Slab is a unique charm-type item. You can seal a sticker inside it and attach the slab to a weapon. The sticker can be returned to your inventory by opening the slab, but doing so destroys the slab. Valve added the Sticker Slab to CS2 in November 2025.
